This civil strife was eventually settled, and the Jayhawk State entered the Union in 1861 as a free state and thus the unofficial nickname of “The Free State” was born. In order for this defense to be approved, you must have a letter from your doctor that states you have a debilitating condition that requires this medication. The letter must be within the last 15 months and on the doctor’s letterhead. There is no list of conditions, but it does require the condition to be one that impairs strength or function and most commonly has been used for those suffering from epilepsy.
