What does a Dispensary in Louisiana Sell?

When you’re in the market for seed banks that ship to Louisiana, Kind Seed Co is here for you. We are also present to provide basic information on related topics, such as edibles, concentrates, psychedelics, and other substances. If you want the skinny on what you can expect a Louisiana dispensary to sell, read on.

The majority of LA citizens can get a bag of weed any time they want without fear of being locked up if it is for medical purposes. Possessing recreational weed can result in a criminal offense. Registered medical patients in Louisiana have access to medical marijuana products that must pass strict guidelines. The selection is extensive and includes gelatin gummies, isolates, and concentrates like vape oils. In a Louisiana dispensary, you can also find a range of topicals, creams, tinctures, and transdermal patches. Thanks to research from places like LSU and Southern University, Pelican State pot lovers enjoy some proven potent products, complete with scientific backup.

A dispensary here also sells this type of data. The people working here are not only folks working a job. For many of the budtenders throughout the nation, cannabis is a way of life. These people are passionate about it, and the producers who deliver to these places make it their life’s work to provide the most medicinally healthy and beneficial products possible for you to consume.

Edibles

Louisiana is a place where certain cannabis products remain illegal, and we are still rather limited as to what we can find in a dispensary. You can pop into the shop and pick up a package of gelatin-based gummies but when you want something special, you’d better plan to make it at home.

Of course, tinctures are considered edibles, though they are not as fun as a bag full of taffy and other candies, the myriad flat and fizzy drinks available out there, or even chocolates, brownies, and other sweet creations. Capsules are another questionable product. Since a vast majority of edibles are still prohibited here, it’s still debatable. We suggest purchasing or creating your own oil products from the seeds you grow and making your own capsules if that’s your thing. There are ways to be innovative while we wait for laws to evolve, and you better believe they’re evolving quickly here.

Edibles hit the body and brain differently than fresh products like live resin and buds. Because the THC has been transformed, and because it is being absorbed through the digestive system, edibles tend to be heavier, more sedative to both body and mind. Isolates, of course, are a different story, meaning that your CBD edibles still work pretty much the same way and will still not get you high.

Topicals

One market which is in full swing in the state of Louisiana is topicals. This medicinal market is well suited to those who maintain that CBD products help them get through their day, minus the high. That’s right, cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive compound. It is popular amongst patients who may not be hip to the heavier hitting side of cannabis.

Topicals are CBD products that are designed for external use only, and which house compounds that immediately bind to certain receptors in our skin, affecting the relief we seek. Because CBD receptors are present in the dermis and THC receptors are not, topicals don’t get you high. Research has even found that CBD is safe for use in child and pet treatments and therapies, proven in some cases to reverse serious illness, so there’s that to consider as well.

Available to consumers throughout Louisiana are lotions, creams, salves, oils, sprays, and patches, so whatever the need, there is a product reported to help. There are only a few companies licensed to produce CBD products within the state and they deliver the wide variety of potential healing we see on dispensary shelves. The people working in dispensaries can tell you all about the different types of products they offer and what safe levels of usage are.

Flowers

No matter what cannabis product you are choosing to consume or otherwise use, whether it’s a bud, concentrate, edible, or topical, its essence came from a plant. Growers have a plan, and they build the buds they choose to, but sometimes an award-winning bud isn’t the main aim. For this reason, we have the flower grading scale.

A and AA flowers go straight to industry or extract, no questions asked. Though this material can make for some killer wax, there is no offering a double-A bud on dispensary shelves. A dispensary owner wouldn’t be caught dead selling double-A buds but can get up to fifty dollars a gram for their extracts. AAA is the first classification of cannabis you will see on the shelves when the time comes, or from your local source. These have been grown in near perfect conditions and, though they may be fairly dense, sticky, and stinky, they leave a little to be desired.

Where we see the award-winning buds, the wallpapers, and centerfolds is in the Quad-A or AAAA-grade buds. These are rock hard and colorful and smell strong without any grassy whiffs whether fresh or smoked. Taking a jeweler’s loupe to these nugs, you’ll see a blanket of perfectly formed trichomes and even some crusting of translucent resin. The cultivation is ideal, the dry and the cure are spot on, and these buds bag accolade after prodigious accolade.

Concentrates

The Quad-A buds we talked about, the triple-A buds we covet every day and the double-A material all have their place in cannabis classification. But these three categories can all be used in making impactive concentrates, for one of the fastest growing and most effective marijuana markets in the country. The state of Louisiana allows a few of these sticky lovelies for retail purchase, and you never know what tomorrow will bring, so keep yourself informed of developing legislation and you could be first in line to buy the bank.

The term concentrates usually refers to either THC-based and/or CBD-based materials which have been extracted either through live resin, dry sift, water cleansing, or distillate methodologies. There are heaps of products out there, including shatter, budder, hash, bubble hash, hash oil, wax, diamonds, sugar, crumble, slush, honeycomb, rosin, taffy, and terp sauce, just to name a few. Though heated debate abounds on the efficacy of these products, millions of consumers from all walks of life, responsibly consume them.

Though taking a two-foot dab might seem like overkill to some of the more conservative consumers out there, everyone is different, and therefore they require varying means to reach serenity. Taking a vape pen with you, popping a capsule, rubbing on a lotion or cream, or tackling the day with gummies is the new normal. These cannabis creations all demand high-quality concentrates, and there is no shortage of choices.

Testing Kits

This next topic may seem a little off-topic, but we have been talking about some pretty heavy stuff and it may all sound a bit like a big drug ring to someone new to the world of cannabis and all its numerous creations. So that the broad diversity of cannabis and related products is deemed safe and so their proprietors don’t face charges for selling harmful products, professionals employ a cannabinoids testing kit at every stage of development.

Whether they are being used on crops in fields, buds in grow houses, edibles for content, or concentrates for their potency, tests of all sorts appear everywhere in medicinal industries, and those of the cannabis industry is especially public. But there are other reasons for employing drug tests. You may have had experience either personally or with a co-worker being asked to undergo random drug tests, for which a methamphetamine testing kit or opiates testing kit may be employed. Some kits test for multiple substances at once, others use saliva, hair, blood, or urine, and they are all accurate.

Also of import to medical communities is the fentanyl testing kit, a popular choice these days in attempts to combat opioid overdoses. Also, certain test kits are available which determine the purity or even simple presence of a substance of itself, such as is the case with spot-testing on drug bust sites, where an MDMA testing kit or cocaine testing kit may be used.

Vapes

We discussed a little about concentrates and what goes into making them. We touched on some of the products available to consumers and what types of relief they can deliver. But the delivery systems used to consume these sticky creations are just as weird and wonderful as the concentrates themselves and consumers in the Bayou State have all the glass and vapes they’ll ever need, right here at their fingertips.

The vaporizer and the vape pen are two of the most popular types of devices in marijuana markets. Housing a simple cartridge packed with vape oil or other concentrate and an atomizer, either for convection or conduction, vapes are all the rage. Simply position these components as directed, turn it on, push the button and inhale, releasing the button as you do. This method will deliver a safe temperature and amount for each puff. You don’t want a huge cloud, though some tokers like that. Puffing responsibly means not turning your lungs to rubber by cooking them over and over again.

Any way you slice it, the vaporizer is a fantastic way to take your medicine. There are many styles and models available, spanning a gargantuan price range. Cheap vapes are simple, convenient, and undemanding of your labors to clean them, though they don’t do our environment any favors. Conversely, there are more expensive ones designed to deliver concentrates how they are meant to be taken, safely, and simply but requiring regular cleaning and care.

Seed Starts

We have been talking a lot about the types of things Louisiana consumers can both enjoy now and expect to enjoy in the future. But for the next few lines, we’d like to get back to our roots and highlight the importance of seed starts to cannabis communities everywhere. We speak regularly with some of the most efficacious breeders and growers in the country and, regardless of how well they manage massive clone operations and clone-only grows, they never fail to point out the importance of seeds.

To get a seed to start is referred to as germination, a process easily affected with minimal effort or equipment. All you need to germinate seed is some pure, rain or r/o water, a couple of paper towels, and a plate. Many growers germinate seedlings by direct sowing, as is the case with autoflowers and many Screen of Green (ScrOG) grows started from seed.

A new plant sprout requires warmth, light, moisture, and a clean environment if it is to survive, and airflow is a must for strengthening stems. Once the seedling has broken the ground, it will open to reveal cotyledons or first leaves. These are not vegetative materials and are only there as inherent solar panels, designed to kick off growth. Once seedlings establish, they can be transplanted to vegging pots and you can start to feed and train them as your plan necessitates.

Clones

Once you have grown a bunch of seeds, have chucked the boys, and have a few females you’re hoping turn out to be winners, the next step is to stop planting seeds and start cloning those females. In this case, cloning cannabis is necessary because, if your females turn out to be fantastic, you already have some mothers started and some plants to work with, putting you in a strong position moving forward.

Those running clone factories throughout Louisiana often use an aeroponic cloner to make their jobs easier. As long as you keep your cloner clean, it will continue to deliver successful root after successful root, so you can focus on growing that green. Clones need moisture and oxygen, a medium to grow into, whether it be water, rock wool, or perlite, and they need ample airflow so they can breathe. This ensures your cuttings don’t go to waste.

Cutting clones also protects genetics. Many times, as can be evidenced by the history of DJ Short Blueberry or 90s Bubba Kush, amongst others, a breeder will protect the lineage of their strain so others cannot rip it off, then generate it as a clone-only strain, so that they can grow their prized money-maker forever. Of course, forever is often too much to ask, and so we eventually have access to breeds and seeds.

Headshop Merchandise

Most head shops throughout Louisiana carry a very specific set of merchandise, primarily those products aimed at vaping and, of course, a broad range of tobacco products as well. Much like cannabis, tobacco can require grinders and rolling papers, pipes, such as and hookahs, water cooled pipes, butane, lighters, and screens. All of these things and so much more are sitting on head shop shelves awaiting purchase and, in such variety that there is something for every type of consumer.

But the world of weed is a wild one and your average Honeybee State head shop carries a huge selection of glass pipes, dab rigs, down pipes, and bongs, each one of them specifically suited to a particular type of toking. Sure, the common vernacular changes, tastes change, and so too do the products and services available. We know there is a lot to know, and there is more still. We have only been talking about those items directly associated with weed, and we haven’t even touched on most of what’s out there.

To remain on top of things, you don’t only have to hop online and scroll endlessly in hopes of finding appropriate information. Nor should you rely solely on what we have to say here. Within the Louisiana head shop are individuals dedicated to remaining current on market trends and legislation, and it pays to make use of everything these people have to offer.

Kratom

If you like statistics, we have a good one for you. There are well over seventeen thousand plant species on earth that are proven to host medicinal properties. Whether these base compounds are toxic, hallucinogenic, painkilling, or skin-soothing, they seem to be good at what they do. Many remain undiscovered, and thanks to unsustainable forestry practices, many of them will be extinct before such time as they could be found, though you can still expect something new to pop up now and then.

For our present purposes, we are talking about kratom or mitragyna speciosa. Much controversy surrounds the products we see, such as kratom tea, kratom powders, and kratom capsules, appearing in brand names like Enhanced Malay, Borneo Reserve, and Bali Reserve. Due to its status throughout Asia as an opioid, presently under strict prohibition there, much as cannabis once was here, its classification as safe would be a precarious one.

Even though there are a lot of negative kratom effects associated with overuse, such as addiction, organ failure, and death, the FDA has stayed away from kratom products. On the other hand, kratom is more well known for its ability to combat opiate addiction, as it has physically and psychologically soothing capabilities. Although this substance is banned in some states, Louisiana is a kratom haven so, if you’re interested, visit a smoke shop and ask around.

Psilocybin Mushrooms

Cutting-edge research into the efficacy of psychedelics in the treatment of PTSD and depression is being conducted every day throughout the United States. Whereas one time magic mushrooms were a major source of teenage taboo in nearly every American community, they are now being recognized for the special little fungi that they are.

Psybin Mushrooms are a mildly toxic, certainly hallucinogenic family of mushrooms found growing in places all around the world. Cultivated for decades in the name of both privately and publicly funded clinical research, Psilocybe Cubensis are proving themselves as some of the most positively impactful and immediately beneficial natural treatments in America today, and there are plenty in Louisiana. One of the most popular types of shrooms is the Psilocybe Cubensis Albino Louisiana. It is native to the Alligator State and has been used in clinical treatments elsewhere in the country.

The recreational effects of magic mushrooms are multi-faceted. A mushroom trip can make you a bit giggly and silly or bring you to the brink of no control. Depending on the amount you ingest, the hallucinations can be so strong that you experience a reality one hundred percent different than those around you. Somehow, mushrooms and LSD tend to link close companions, pushing us to believe that we are communicating telepathically. Some use mushrooms for meditation, others microdose to maintain a sunny disposition. Regardless of why you ingest mushrooms, it is vital to get informed, read the peer-reviewed studies, and talk with those who have experience with them. Phyto-therapeutics is a term used to describe a class of plant-made formulations and as more research is done into mushrooms it will not be long before this fantastic fungi will be making its way to your local dispensary.
