Why Durban Dew Excels Outdoors
Durban Dew has earned her place as a best-selling outdoor cannabis seed variety thanks to her legendary resilience in challenging northern climates. Even in cool, cloudy summers typical of northern and central Europe, she delivers reliable, robust performance.
Her bullet-proof genetics combine the award-winning outdoor champion **Frisian Dew** (Cannabis Cup winner) with the iconic South African classic **Durban Poison** — creating a hardy, vigorous strain that thrives where others struggle.
The Grow Story
Mrs Larimar germinated her Durban Dew feminised seeds on April 20th, 2023. After a short indoor vegetative period in 4-litre pots, the young plants were transplanted outdoors on May 21st once the weather had warmed sufficiently.
Preparation started wisely the previous autumn: the outdoor garden plot was enriched with fertilisers, cow manure, and recycled indoor soil. Over the winter months, the manure broke down into rich, fertile compost — giving the Durban Dew plants a powerful natural foundation from the very beginning.
Outdoors, the plants were protected by a simple open wooden shelter with a transparent plastic roof to shield them from heavy wind and rain. Bamboo fencing on the north side provided additional wind protection, helping the plants stay compact and healthy throughout the season.
Key Highlights
– Excellent performance in cool, short-season northern climates

Irene Bensalem –
Dry took about a week and it still had enough funk for me. Lights out later, not harsh. Didn’t fight me at all. Keeping this in the evening rotation.
Evan Okafor –
Needed help with the pack. They replaced the pack. Good enough.
Tonya Vargas –
This one surprised me in a good way. Ran Durban Dew beside a known keeper. Swapped hydro nutes weekly and EC stayed calm. Tried a bit of bubble bucket on a sister plant for comparison. Good call trying this one. In fabric pot; watered when the pots lightened up. Trimmed sugar leaves and stopped there.

Resin everywhere, my scissors were gummed up. Frosty nugs.

Sits easy late without couch-lock extremes. This Durban Dew pack felt consistent. Nodes stacked tidy once I stopped chasing height. Already planning another round. Swapped GH Flora weekly and EC stayed calm. Smell stayed muted until day ten of burping. Pretty jar appeal once cured. Would I run it again?
