Because of the beautiful purity of Afghan, and the age and longevity it represents, it carries with it a clarity and sophistication which seems to be inherent only to landrace strains. These buds are sweet and musky on the nose. Break them open and there is the unmistakable scent of rich pine-sap and sometimes sandalwood. Firing these nugs up brings depth to those initial flavours, amplifying the pine and sweet woods, earth and musk. Some may taste hints of lavender, saffron and other herbs and spices while a thick flavour of beautiful pine-sap covers the tongue and throat. This is not considered one of the skunky weeds; however, the smell is unmistakable as a good, old-school weed.
This weed is not going to be the best accompaniment for the busy individual. Because of the astronomical THC levels, there is an instant brainy buzz and a psychedelia which, when taken at the end of the day, can be quite enjoyable. Within a couple of hours, users are generally ushered-off to sleep after a near inevitable couch-lock.
