Best dispensaries in St Louis
This guide is general information for adults 21 and older. It is not legal advice. Cannabis laws in Missouri and in St Louis can change, and so can store hours and licenses. Confirm a store’s license with the DCR before you visit.
Looking for the best dispensary in St Louis? There is no single best store for everyone. The right pick depends on where you are staying, how you get around and what you want to buy. What matters most is that the store holds a current state license. This guide explains the Missouri rules every buyer should know and shows you how to find a licensed store and check its license yourself with official DCR tools.
We do not accept payment for placement, and we do not rank stores by quality. Kind Seed Co does not sell cannabis products. We sell seeds to adults 21 and older for lawful home growing where it is allowed.
What Missouri law says for buyers
Missouri voters approved adult use cannabis in 2022. Adults 21 and older can buy and possess up to three ounces of cannabis. Public consumption is not allowed, and products sold in licensed stores carry license numbers you can check against the state register.

Do not use cannabis in a car, even when parked, and never drive impaired. Taking cannabis across state lines is illegal under federal law, even between two states that allow it. Federal property, including national parks and airports, is also off limits.
How we checked licenses
This guide is based on official DCR resources, accessed October 29, 2026. We reviewed the state’s official tools for St Louis, but we could not confirm a current store by store list for this update, so this version explains how to find licensed stores instead of naming them. We did not use paid listings, online star ratings or reviews.
We are not naming individual stores in this version of the guide because the state’s live licensee dashboard could not be confirmed for this update. Use the DCR map or look for the state’s Verified Dispensary decal before you buy.
How to find a licensed dispensary in St Louis
Missouri has one of the easier ways to spot a licensed store. Follow these steps before you buy.
- Use the state map. Open the DCR licensed facilities page and the dispensary map, then search for St Louis or your ZIP code.
- Note the facility number. Licensed dispensaries have a facility number that starts with DIS.
- Look for the decal. In 2026 the state began offering licensed dispensaries a Verified Dispensary window decal with a QR code. Scan it, and make sure it opens the official state map.
- Check the products. Licensed products carry Missouri labels and tracking information. Unlabeled products are a warning sign.
- Ask for the license. A licensed store should be able to show its state license on request.
St Louis city and St Louis County together have dozens of licensed dispensaries, including stores in South City, the Central West End, Midtown and along Hampton Avenue and Manchester Road. Because licenses can change hands, we recommend checking each store on the DCR map at the time you visit rather than relying on any printed list, including this one.
Missouri regulators have also warned about unlicensed shops that sell hemp derived intoxicating products that look like cannabis. These shops are not licensed dispensaries, and their products are not tested or tracked under the state cannabis program.
Getting around St Louis
St Louis stores spread across South City, the Central West End, Midtown and the Hampton and Chippewa corridors, with many more in St Louis County. A short drive or rideshare reaches most neighborhoods.
How to check a license yourself
The DCR posts an interactive dispensary map and a licensee contact list dashboard. Search by city or ZIP code and look for a facility number that starts with DIS. Licensed stores can also display a state issued Verified Dispensary decal in the window with a QR code linked to the state map.

It is worth the minute it takes. Licensed stores must sell tested, labeled and tracked products. Unlicensed sellers do not follow those rules.
What to bring and what to expect
- A valid government photo ID showing you are 21 or older. Stores check ID at the door and again at the counter.
- Payment. Many stores take cash or debit only because of federal banking rules. Most have an ATM inside, often with a fee.
- A plan. Menus can be long. Browse the store’s online menu before you go.
- Purchase limits. Stores must follow Missouri purchase limits, so large orders may be capped.
- Time at checkout. Every sale is tracked, so lines can move slowly at busy times.
Tips for a first visit
If you are new, visit on a weekday when stores are quieter, and let staff know it is your first time. Ask about product labels, packaging and storage, and keep everything sealed until you get home. Staff can explain product types, but they should not make health claims. For a longer checklist, see our guide, read this before you shop at a marijuana dispensary.

Red flags to avoid
- A shop that is not on the official state list.
- Products with no state label, batch number or test information.
- “Gifting” setups where cannabis comes free with a sticker or T shirt.
- Sellers who do not check ID.
- Delivery offers from anyone other than a licensed business.
Growing your own in Missouri
Missouri allows adults 21 and older to grow at home only after getting a personal cultivation identification card from the DCR. Card holders can keep up to six flowering plants, six nonflowering plants and six clones, in an enclosed, locked space.

If home growing is legal for you, it can be a rewarding way to learn about the plant. Our Missouri cannabis seeds guide covers state rules in more detail, and legal requirements for growing weed plants in your state compares limits across the country. When you are ready, start with beginner seeds or easy autoflower seeds for a small indoor space.
